The dark troopers can barely walk, can't shoot, they are slow but they look shiny and polished and that's the top of their qualifications.

I always thought this was such a cheap way to end QuiGons life. It's like Lucas didn't even care to make the battle good enough to honor QuiGon and his real skills. What a shame... Sure the pre-meditation scene was very special where we get to see QuiGon clearly demonstrating that he is indeed one with the force and perhaps preparing himself for the inevitable, but my god what a cheap shot and weak acceptance on QuiGon's part. It's a shame Lucas put more time into a rastafarian Lizard then the pinacle of what all the Jedi could never become, a real Jedi, QuiGon. RIP My guy

I remember when this first came out... And it got universally panned! And now...? LOL! I guess things must be REALLY bad with this franchise, if people are starting to rethink the prequels! I mean back then, they were so hated that it influenced George into giving the rights over to Disney in the first place!

The look on Gideon’s face is the look of a man who knows he’s utterly screwed and is completely powerless to do anything about it.

There's so much great about this sequence, to list them all would be fruitless, but I'll drop a note on something most people don't care to think about. The very beginning, when the doors open and Darth Maul is just standing there... the good guys have an entire platoon's worth of firepower at their disposal. Trained security officers with combat experience. And yet they all take one look at Maul and just immediately decide better of it. Because these people actually live in the Star Wars universe, a place where magic is real. These people have seen Jedi fight, with their own eyes, literally minutes ago and know they can deflect blasters and massacre entire squads of dedicated Battle Droids. They can shoot at Maul. They just know better than to embarrass themselves like that. It's an underrated, subtle bit of worldbuilding. It ties into the first sequence of the film, where the Neimoidians have no idea about the true capabilities of Jedi, but at the same time are _very_ quick to freak the fuck out and throw everything they have at them, because again - in Star Wars, _magic is real_ and the people within the universe are aware of it, even if only distantly. Jedi and Sith are not just skilled warriors, but actual sorcerers, people who can on an individual level alter the very history of the galaxy and on many occasions, have - those laser-sword wielding wizards are _not_ to be fucked with, even if you think you have every advantage - because you can't account for literal magic bullshit.

I dont think a lot of people get this but yes the jedi are more than capable of using force choke its not a dark side esclusive for ability its jud that the jedi are prhobited from using it and most jedi actually refrain from using it.

The road/trainscene is better of in the dark corners of my brain

I wish Fives were here to eventually see Echo. Imagine if they put Ahsoka’s return arc at the end of S6 and Five’s conspiracy plot comes right after Echo’s rescue. I’m not 100% sure how that would work timeline wise, but I think that would make more sense to me. Less time between Five’s death and order 66 makes Rex’s scene in order 66 even better with his tears.
